Character's name: Vindicare Imperator Mortis- Jalith

Character's LJ: Death_Adept

Character's canon: Warhammer 40,000

Brief (around 300 words) personality outline of your character:

On the surface, as with many Assassin’s and soldiers who deal death from afar, Jalith appears detached, cold and calculating. Beneath that though does lye a more creative mind and a dry wit.  Nevertheless it is difficult for any such an agent to form bonds of trust and friendship, knowing that at a moments notice he must be ready to kill or be killed.

Jalith subscribes whole heartedly to the dictatum of the Vindicare ‘Exitus Acta Probat’ “The ends justify the deed” No matter the means even unsightly, Jalith will do anything he has to in order to complete an objective and will kill without hesitation if it would be advantageous to the mission at hand.

Throughout his life as an acolyte and even through his training, Jalith has been exposed to scenes that would drive lesser men insane or cause them to cower in fear, having faced terrible Xenos and their creations has hardened his mind to all but the most supernatural of horrors. Furthered through the training and hypno-conditioning of the Officio Assinorum Jalith has overcome fear itself, able to stand up in the face of the most terrifying things known to man without but a flinch.

Having dealt with the horrors that come in the wake of Xenos, Jalith, like near all Imperial servants is ever wary of the threat of the Xenos. Though he will work with them if forced but it would take a great measure for him to trust one.

Jalith through his time as an Acolyte under Inquisitor Thrakis has had greater and closer experience with the workings of psykers and their ilk than many the average servant of the Imperium and has a measure respect for their abilities and the dangers that follow them.

Brief (around 500 words) history and background of your character OR link to a really good wiki page with their history. In either case, explain where they cut off from the timeline:

Born to a relatively uninteresting world an Agri-world, not content with the menial tasks of day to day life, the young Jalith found himself desiring something more, something so scarce amongst the general populace of the Imperium, freedom and thus when approached by an assassin guild set up on world he did not hesitate to accept.

It was not into his 23 year that he was taken from his world and shipped off having shown potential unknowingly to agents of the Inquisition. It was not long until the Inquisitor that who’s agents had noticed the assassin would put him to the test. Sent to the planet, Scramus 2-15 a planet under siege by legions of its own citizens all in a zombie like state. Sent deep into the sewers, Jalith worked with the other acolytes, utilizing his stealth and growing marksmanship to overcome many obstacles as the Acolytes came across clues within the sewers as to the source of the outbreak.

Over many years in service to the Inquisition, Jalith would work alongside many other varied acolytes of inquisitor Thrakis and his agents. Investigating ever further and further into the deeper plot behind the outbreak on Scramus 2-15 something that would turn out to be but the tip of the ice-burg so to speak. Their investigations taking them to Arctus IV, Maccabeous Quintis Scintilla and even to a vault world within the Adeptus Mechanicus controlled Lathe systems.

Ever where possible Jalith made ample use of his ever growing skill in marksmanship and stealth, often sneaking deep into facilities ahead to scout out and find information..not always to the greatest of success unfortunately however. During the course of the adventures Jalith had a knack for survival despite the odds having survived the explosion of a hive, attacks by Zombies, a falling starship and combat with a Xeno-Tech Monstrosity and even a Zombie Apocalypse. His eyes were destroyed by a Xenos plasma weapon and were replaced at Thrakis's urging with good cybernetic upgrades with a number of modifications.

Over the many years Jalith rose ever higher through the ranks of the Acolytes, his skills proven time and again as he worked alongside his fellow acolytes as they rose to become trusted Acolytes of their inquisitor, reaching the point at which they would be declared Throne Agents themselves. The Inquisitor pulling a few connections to see that Jalith would see the further training needed to hone his skills to the razor edge. The training of the temple Vindicare of the Officio Assassinorum. Far from an easy path, a task Jalith undertook with great zeal.

Taken to the very edge of death time and again through the brutal regimes and tests of the Officio Assassinorum, every ounce of his skill put to the test day after day, forced to endure and survive tests that would kill lesser men. Indeed, few survived the training that took place even before an Assassin could be inducted into one of the temple orders. Jalith pressed through these tests, surviving each almost as an act of defiance, taking each as a further challenge to prove himself, and after a long time he would be rewarded, taking on the helm of the Vindicare.

His skills would be put to use again and again against the enemies of the Imperium, taking out leaders of cults, corrupt officials and taking on any task with utmost efficiency and soon he was assigned once more to aid Inquisitor Thrakis as the highly efficient Assassin he had now become.

If the character has magic, mutant, or otherwise metahuman abilities, please explain what they are and outline EXACTLY how they function, as their powers may not work due to the nature of the ship or may need to be limited somehow:

Due to the enhancement procedures conducted on many of members of the Vindicare Assassin temple, Jalith’s already extreme agility has been enhanced to unnatural levels, rivalling and exceeding that of many Eldar.

Temple assassin training- Due to the extensive training and augmentations of the Vindicare, Jalith’s  reactions are honed to a razor’s edge, able to react to any threat in an instant, allows him the chance to dodge near any attack, even those that would prove exceedingly difficult for a normal combatant to avoid, such as massive explosions and even invisible psychic attacks.

Due to an unfortunate encounter with a Xeno-tech monstrosity Jalith’s eyes were replaced by good quality bionic’s which give him the ability to see in the dark, as well as to be able to zoom in on a target at will.

Non-superhuman special abilities of note (Is your character a master ventriloquist? A naturally-occurring super-genius? The best martial artist in the world? Say so here):

Trained in the use of near any weapon available to the Imperium and many others beside, especially in the use of more accurate weapons, especially the Exitus longrifle and Exitus pistol, the prime weapons of the Vindicare, such is his skill that he can pick out the smallest target at even at extreme range, able to put many a foe down with a single well placed shot, no matter what he may be wielding.

Stealth training, as with many Assassin’s, Jalith to is a master of stealth, able to move with little to no sound and pass unnoticed with little more than a whisper, and avoid the gaze of any who may be watching. A prime skill when scouting a location, combined with the Vindicare’s stealth suit this makes Jalith  extremely difficult to be seen unless he wishes to be.

Vindicare Spy Mask
Issued to Imperial Assassins of the Vindicare Temple, this wargear’s systems are incredibly advanced and sophisticated.
It is said that the design for the Spy Mask is little-understood even by the Tech-Priests of Mars. The spy mask contains
cartridges of concentrated food and water for extended operations, and a multi-channel comm sensor (both vox and
pict) for monitoring enemy communications. Its main feature is a wide-spectrum visor which can pick out heat and energy
sources at tremendous distances. The mask includes a built-in auspex, advanced highquality
magnoculars, good-quality photo-visor (granting the wearer the Dark Sight Trait and making him immune to the
effects of photon flash grenades), pict-recorder, re-breather, and vox-caster. In addition, the wearer may re-roll any failed
Perception-based Test, and does not suffer a change to the range bracket when firing a ranged weapon at a target
protected by Cameleoline.

It should be noted that the equipment of a Vindicare Assassin is often gene-coded to that individual and no other,
and that it would take a great deal of effort—and a Very Hard (–30) Tech-Use and Medicae Test—to adjust the
gene-coding for another user.

Vindicare Stealth Suit

This item of wargear appears as a matte-black bodyglove, specially fitted for the individual Assassin. The Vindicare
Temple has a long-standing pact with the Adeptus Mechanicus to craft these exquisite suits, each one combining Cameleolinelaced
materials with a complex version of “synskin.” This material bonds with the Assassin’s body, enhancing his reflexes
and protecting him from poisons, gases, and other hazards of the battlefield. Each suit is supple and silent, allowing the
Assassin to move with perfect freedom whilst still retaining its protective qualities.
The Stealth Suit may not be worn under any form of  armour. It provides 3 points of Armour to all locations and
incorporates all the benefits of synskin. The Stealth Suit grants a +10 bonus to Dodge Tests and to Toughness tests to resist
any form of toxin, and a +20 bonus to Concealment and Silent Move Tests. The wearer may attempt a Concealment
Test as a Half Action instead of a Full Action, and may make the attempt even whilst being observed. If the wearer remains
stationary, he counts as being one range bracket further away for all ranged attacks against him. The Stealth Suit makes the
wearer invisible to the Dark Sight Trait, preysense, and infared sensors of all kinds. This item is manufactured at the Best
craftsmanship level.

It should be noted that the equipment of a Vindicare Assassin is often gene-coded to that individual and no other,
and that it would take a great deal of effort—and a Very Hard (–30) Tech-Use and Medicae Test—to adjust the
gene-coding for another user.

Exitus Pistol
The Exitus pistol is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, a weapon as elegant as it is deadly. Unlike the larger rifle, the Exitus
pistol is mainly considered a backup weapon for the Vindicare Temple, primarily used in those rare circumstances where
the Assassin is discovered, cornered, or in need of rapidfire capability. Under those circumstances, the Exitus pistol
performs admirably, and more than a few Vindicare Assassins owe their lives to this weapon. The Exitus Pistol has a built-in
silencer and is manufactured at the Best craftsmanship level.

Exitus Rifle
The signature weapon of the Vindicare Temple, this rifle is amongst the finest examples of Imperial weaponsmithing.
Hand-crafted by a Magos-Artisan of the Adeptus Mechanicus, each Exitus rifle is part of a matched set—both pistol and rifle
customised to the specifications of the individual Assassin. The Exitus weapons contain sophisticated machine-spirits
and utilise ammunition constructed from special heavy-gravity alloys to penetrate nearly all forms of known protection. All
Exitus weapons incorporate a silencer and a selector switch. The Exitus rifle has a built-in telescopic sight. Exitus weapons
are manufactured at the Best craftsmanship level. The firer may load one round as a half action (normally for one of the special
issue ammunition loads). If the firer has the Rapid Reload Talent, he may instead use a Reaction to load a single round.
